GLENVIEW, Ill. – Western Golf Association and Stonebridge Country Club officials announced today that Stonebridge Country Club has been selected to host the 2027 Evans Scholars Invitational.

Scheduled for July 19-25, 2027, the Evans Scholars Invitational – which counts PGA Tour winners Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young and Harry Hall among its past champions – will bring the best players on the Korn Ferry Tour to Aurora, Illinois, for the first time.

“We’re thrilled to bring one of the premier events on the Korn Ferry Tour to the Fox Valley and Stonebridge Country Club in 2027,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA senior vice president of tournaments. “Our event is a proven path to PGA Tour stardom, and Stonebridge will provide an exciting stage for these elite competitors.”

Designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio and opened in 1989, Stonebridge stretches to over 7,100 yards and features mature oak trees, creeks, ponds and native grasses throughout the 168-acre property. Fazio also designed The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois, which has hosted the Evans Scholars Invitational seven times.

Stonebridge boasts a championship pedigree that includes events on both the PGA Tour Champions and LPGA Tour. The club hosted the Ameritech Senior Open from 1991-95, culminating with World Golf Hall of Famer Hale Irwin’s victory in 1995. Stonebridge later hosted the LPGA’s Kellogg-Keebler Classic from 2002-04, producing champions Annika Sorenstam (two wins) and Karrie Webb, before hosting the Illinois Open in 2021.

“Championship golf has always been part of Stonebridge’s DNA, so bringing the Evans Scholars Invitational here feels like a natural next chapter in that story,” said Steve Gillie, PGA Director of Golf at Stonebridge Country Club. “We’re excited to see how the next generation of PGA Tour stars take on Stonebridge — and even more proud that, when the final putt drops, the biggest winner will be the Evans Scholars Foundation.”

The Evans Scholars Invitational has become a key stop on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule, showcasing future PGA Tour stars while shining a national spotlight on the mission of the Evans Scholars Foundation, which provides full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving youth caddies. The championship falls during a pivotal stretch of the season, as players battle for positioning ahead of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals and the opportunity to earn one of 20 PGA Tour cards.

Scheffler, now the No. 1-ranked player in the world and a four-time major champion, won the inaugural event at The Glen Club in 2019. Young – the defending PLAYERS Championship winner and 2022 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year – won in 2021, with PGA Tour-winner Harry Hall following in 2022.

Johnny Keefer, the 2025 champion, went on to earn Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors before reaching the PGA Tour. In July, Texas graduate Tommy Morrison shattered the tournament scoring record at 29-under par. Along with his 2026 victory, Morrison has recorded five top-10 finishes in seven Korn Ferry Tour starts and currently sits sixth on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List.

The Evans Scholars Invitational has been contested at The Glen Club for seven of its eight editions. The lone exception came in 2020, when the event was played at Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester, Illinois.
