GOLF, Ill. – The Western Golf Association has launched ticket sales for the inaugural Evans Scholars Invitational, which will be played May 23-26 at The Glen Club in Glenview.

Fans can secure their place to see the next wave of golf stars compete in this first-year Web.com Tour event by purchasing tickets at www.esinvitational.com. All proceeds from the Evans Scholars Invitational will support the Evans Scholars Foundation’s efforts to award full tuition and housing college scholarships to high-achieving caddies.

The three available ticket options include:

Any Day Tournament Round Grounds Ticket ($10)
For use any one day, Thursday through Sunday, May 23-26.

Weekly Grounds Booklet ($30)
Provides entry each day May 23-26.

1899 Club ($200 each, or $150 each with a group of 10 or more)
Provides entry any one day, May 23-26, to a premium, open-air hospitality venue overlooking the par-3 17th green. The 1899 Club tickets include access to the tournament grounds as well as continental breakfast, lunch buffet, snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks. Access to private, upscale restrooms will also be available.

Conducted by the WGA, the Evans Scholars Invitational marks a return to The Glen Club for the Web.com Tour, which contested the Bank of America Open at the course from 2002 through 2008. The tournament produced an impressive list of champions, including 2013 PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner (2006).

With 50 available PGA TOUR cards for the following season (since 2013), the Web.com Tour is the path to the PGA TOUR. Three out of four PGA TOUR members are Web.com Tour alumni, including stars like Jason Day, Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas. Twenty-five TOUR cards are reserved for the leading money winners at the end of the 24-event Regular Season. Another 25 are up for grabs at the three-event Web.com Tour Finals that follow the Regular Season in August and September.

“We’re excited to launch this new event and to bring the Web.com Tour back to The Glen Club and the Chicago area,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA Senior Vice President of Tournaments. “Many of the players in our field will be on the PGA TOUR in the near future. This is a great chance for golf fans to see the stars of tomorrow in action now.”

The Evans Scholars Invitational’s sole charitable beneficiary, the Evans Scholars Foundation, offers full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving caddies across the nation. This year, there are 985 Evans Scholars enrolled at 18 universities. Since its founding in 1930, 10,830 caddies have graduated as Evans Scholars.
